Zoom Zoom Zoom

A few weeks ago on a Tuesday, I had a lot of errands to do that weren't in the GTA so I decided to rent a car. I went to Enterprise rent-a-car. I wanted a small economical car that was good on gas. The choices were pretty slim so I picked a silver Toyota Yaris. Good on gas and has a alot of cargo space in the back if you fold down the seats. My purpose for renting it was to do some errands with my Mom and pick up a few things. I picked up a few things alright. A bike for my daughter, a wooden chest, groceries and my Mom's suitcase as she was staying over for a few days. I couldn't believe it all fit in the back of such a compact car. I was very impressed. I wasn't impressed with was it's pick up on the highway. For inner city bootin' around it's fantastic. However, trying to pass a big transport truck is another story. As I put the petal to the medal I felt like I was driving a sewing machine. You can't expect much from a 4 cylinder engine that isn't high performance. It would have been better in standard transmission. I asked about that at Enterprise and they told me they don't have any 5 speed vehicles. Shame.

This past Tuesday and Wednesday my errands were in the city so I bought myself a TTC weekpass. Fortunately all my trips were all along the subway line. I've never had any real issues with the subway. I actually like it. I get to read or play on my Nintendo DS while I travel to and fro. For me, it's not really "the better way", it's just the cheaper way.

I miss my Lola. She and I went far and wide. Sadly, since I work downtown I wasn't using her much so I sold her. I often wonder who has her now. Are they taking good care of her? Are they changing her oil and using good gas? Do they know she doesn't like the sun? O.K. that one is a little much. Even I will admit that. But it's kind of true, red fades really quickly in the sun. Especially red hair.

Yes, I name all my vehicles. Doesn't everyone?

I name cars too. My first car was Speedy (she was not). There's also been a Bob and a Vera. Currently our car is named Barry.

Barry is perfect. Love it!

haha, that is pretty funny. I think it might be a girl-thing (sorry girls) to name your car.
Maybe that could be a poll topic for guys/girls....to see if they have ever named their car!

Although I'll admit that sometimes when I'm feeling affectionate I do give "my girl" a pat on the dashboard to reward "her" for good behaviour.

Mr. Mountainview,

You should call your "girl" Gretta.

I'll have to keep my eyes open when you are in your car to actually see you "pat her for good behaviour".
