This is not the attention I was anticipating

Here are the top 4 questions I get asked while booting around town on Mimi;
  1. Q: Does it run on gas or electric
  2. Q: Do you need a license?
  3. Q: How did much you pay for it?
  4. Q: How much gas does it take?

Now let me mention who is asking me these questions. They are typically old greasy men who used ride their own scooter or moped back home. These men feel compelled to tell me stories of the good ol' days when they could go from town to town to go buy bread from their favourite bakery on their gas powered two wheeler. (Did I tell you that they are usually wearing a dirty wife beater and socks pulled up to their knees.) I just politely listen while I put on my helmet and bid them adieu. Of course, I toot my horn as I zoom away to make them smile or the rest of the day.

Zipping around town

Well I've had some time now to get used to riding Mimi. She's a good girl and rides well. Traveling to and from work is quite enjoyable. This is a great way to get around in the city. Even in traffic. Even though the subway is actually faster. Even in the heat. It sure does get hot between all those cars. The need to have perforated seats with a cooling system to keep your butt comfy on a long hot ride. That would make the Sharon happy.

As I am getting a little more confident I feel the need for speed. This scares me a bit as I am an adrenaline junkie. O.K. maybe not quite. Obsessed. Yes, obsessed, that's it. Those of you who know me can testify to that. Once I'm on to something it's all I can think about. My poor family who is ever so patient with me puts up with all my antics as I drag them it to it elbows deep.

So now my new obsession is making my scooter a little more zippy. I know this can be done as there is quite a bit on the Internet about this. It's something I would leave to a professional mechanic. That's what they are there for. After all, you wouldn't cut your own hair now, would you?

Welcome to your new home Mimi

Today Mimi came home. I hope to take her out this weekend.
