Black Out

After seeing the sea of people that were outside in -18° c weather, waiting for a shuttle bus that was not already full of people, I decided to go back home. The corner of Keele and Bloor was mayhem. People were cold and getting impatient.

I didn't feel like freezing my buns off today so I decided not to go into work. I also didn't want to have to struggle to get back home if I did get my frozen but there. The power has been out in the west end of Toronto since 10p.m. last night. Many people have been without heat. My immediate neighborhood has not been affected. (Could have something to do with the fact that the Mayor's home is two blocks away.) I am thankful.

I will take the pooches out for a small walk and see if the local yarn store is open and maybe knit a pair of mittens today. Once again, I am happy to have heat.

Spring is in the air and that means new shoes

Today was a beautiful day. I spent most of it cleaning up the house.  Something I hate doing but I didn't mind it today.  I opened up the window to air the house.  What a nice feeling.  I decided to go for a walk today and discovered a sale at Yarn Boutique.  I bought a suede yarn to make some baby Uggs.  How exciting!  Maybe I'll post them when I'm done making them.

Even more exciting was my venture to Sherway Gardens.  With spring in the air I just felt the need to go shoe shopping.  I was looking for ballerina flats to wear with jeans and tights.  To my surprise I bought a pair in silver.  And I love them!  They are so comfy all I have to do now is buy a cute little outfit to go with them.  I'm sure I could wear them with many things in my wardrobe but it's always fun to have some new pieces for the spring.

Conclusion:  Spring makes me want to shop and shopping makes me happy.
